leave raking

Leaves are taking over my yard, therefore taking over my house. So I decided to do something about it.

While I was raking I found this one little red leaf mixed in with all the nasty brown ones. I thought it was nice.

I was pretty amazed at the fact that I could do this with the rakes

Here are all the leaves I raked! Thank you city of Starkville for the garbage bags. One of only the many of advantages of living in the city.

I would like to thank the tools that made all of this possible. And my dad he brought the tools

After finishing I sat down and had a vitamin water. Yum!

He is SUPER SIMON! Andrew made him a paper cape.

We went to the vet today. He is hiding in the corner. The people at the vet school were very nice. Simon is just a tough patient.

He likes to lay in the couch with mama and daddy

I am not a very good blogger...

I aspire to write a blog everyday, obviously that dosent happen. I mean what important enough to put on a blog. Since I have not updated in a long time, well really i only have one other post, what should I include?

I will just try to talk...I mean type.

So I am in grad school, right. I think that it is way easier then my undergrad ever thought about being. While I am in school I work at the college of forest resources. I know it has nothing to do with my major, but it pays and I like it. I am not anybody important at CFR, diffidently the low man on the todum pole. Sometimes I think I have too much responsibility and then other times I realize how swamped everyone else is and feel like I should be doing more.

Maybe I could talk about my week....

Ok so Monday I can't remember, let's move on to Tuesday. I should start by saying that all day Tuesday I thought it was Wednesday even to the point that I
did things to prepare for Wednesday night that should have been done on the actual Wednesday.
Other than that Tuesday was good. I had lunch with my dad since he was in town for a meeting. We ate at Veranda. It wad fried chicken day which is the best on blue plate. Then I went about my day until supper. Sierra and Ben came over for spaghetti Ruesday. In case you don't know we have spaghetti every Tuesday at the Watkins house. This week and last week I experimented with my own sauce. Last week bad this week good!

Maybe I will talk about Wednesday (today) tomorrow since I am doing this on my I phone for the Internet cause the hubby is playing halo Kline which means no internet for me.

our first year

I was texting my old boss Mrs. Patsy the other day telling her what all was going on in our life. She suggested that I start journaling about my life. So I am. She is a very smart, respectable lady I will heed her suggestion.
Andrew and I just celebrated our one year anniversary.  It seems really crazy to me, one year is a long time and I can hardly remember it. I think this journal will help me. I am going to start from the day we got married and try to remember as much as I can. So here it goes….

--We get married! (side thought: One year ago today I did not marry my best friend….I entered into a holy covenant before God with the man I love. That my friends, is way better than a best friend. I am honored and truly blessed to be called Andrew’s helpmate.—this is just something I have been thinking about.)
--The day was wonderful. The planning not so much very stressful and if I had to go back and do it again, I wouldn’t. I would just elope.
--After we got married we went on our honeymoon to Atlanta, GA. Go Braves. I am a huge Braves fan and Andrew is very supportive
**I may turn this journal into a blog**
--We get back and we start school less than a week later. Andrew in Grad school and I am finishing my undergrad work (graduating May 2010). Andrew has an assistant ship and I am working at the College of Forest Resources as a student worker (as you can expect the money is rolling…sarcasm).
--At this point I am rebelling against my parents (something I have never done, that was Courtney’s job) and not going to grad school. I will work, as a teacher.
--Grad school is really stressful for Andrew and he is trying hard, but is really not his cup of tea. FYI: First year of marriage not a good time to start grad school.
--BTW we are living in a 1 bedroom; yes I said one, apartment on Herbert St. I like to call it the ghetto of the cotton district. It’s really small no washer and dryer and no central heat and air…we will make it, well we did make it out
--So one week after we get married we go to Sunday school, to the nearly/newly wed class at FBC Starkville. We like it, but it is hard to get involved we will push our way in.
--Grad school still stinking for Andrew.
---December now, Andrew walks for graduation although his official graduation date is August 8, 2009 the day we got married.
--Andrew ‘s Uncle lives in St. Louis, MO. He and his wife, Jill invited us to come up for a basketball game at the University he works at (St. Louis University). We go and have a wonderful time. Jonathan and Jill are wonderful people.
--It’s now our first Christmas…a bit  stressful due to the fact we have to visit two places…but we made it and our family understands
--Oh how could I forget, Simon dog lives with us…Andrew loves him so much. I already loved him because he was my dog to begin with.
--Andrew is not going back to grad school…long story…not need to enter into
--Now he needs a job, thank the Lord we have saved and have money to fall back on.
January
--We are going to Passion conference in ATL, I was super excited and the Lord really worked in our lives. It was truly a great experience for both me and Andrew
--Back to the job hunt. I have now made it my job to find Andrew a job. So if you need a job I know every website to find postings.
--After two long months of job hunting, with the support of family and friends through prayer, Andrew  finds a job.
--At Walgreens in Columbus, he will be an overnight photo tech. I don’t care it’s a job.
--I am doing my student teaching this semester Fall 2010 (almost finished). I am under Mrs. Pam Kemp at Armstrong Middle School 7th grade. I like it, but I want my own classroom
--Still rebelling against my parents wishes of not going to grad school. I have told them that I was not going unless an assistantship fell into my lap. I thought I was safe because that never happens. I guess I forgot that I am in the Lords will not my own and I know my mother was praying for that assistantship to fall.
--I get a email from my boss at CFR (I am not working there now because working and student teaching is against the rules at MSU).
--she says hey I am retiring and they would like to know if you would take over some of my duties as a grad assistant.
--I forgot to mention that, if I was not teaching I would want Mrs. Patsy job. I had told my mom this a few weeks back. I loved working for , the work itself was fun.
--ASSISTANTSHIP FELL IN LAP…ugh?! My parents were right.
--I have to go to grad school now…
--we are almost caught up now….
--I take the assistantship and I work for CFR in May 2010 as an intermittent worker and my assistantship begins in June 2010 along with grad classes.
--Andrew is still working at Walgreens he likes it. He has made friends there. All three boys that work at Walgreens at night are 23 he is really enjoying it and it pays the bills….mostly. The friends are Will and Tabor. He rides with Will to save gas…and Tabor is the manager.
--During my first week of grad school my boss and I have a summer camp to put on (so much fun!)
--But wait, she has appdecitis (I don’t know how you spell that and spell check won’t help me)
--So it is up to me to get 20ish campers and 8 counselors  food, lodging, and transportation. With only a few mistakes we (me and the counselors) pull it off without Mrs. Patsy.
--grad school, grad school, A, A,  Success!
July 2010
--Grad school 2nd semester begins.
--July 2010 was pretty uneventful…
--oh wait no it wasn’t, Andrew applied for a job at the end of June they call him mid/end July het got the Job
--Praise the Lord! Better money, closer, still at night but better shorter hours.
--so here we are at the beginning of August. Andrew has started his new Job, which he loves, it is at SemiSouth in the research park at MSU.
--We went to ATL to celebrate our 1 year. Anniversary Crazy
--2 pages later we are right back where we began!

I am turning this into a blog…this will be my first post.
