An Update

So I have a few things to update you on. Nothing to serious, but just general updates.

School-We will start here. I love my job, and yes today May 30, I am still in school. School lets out here in NC on June 7. So it's bee a long school year, but I have loved every minute of my time here in NC. My students are awesome my co-workers are awesome!

My 8th graders will be graduating soon...from Middle School. And I will miss them terribly. They are so mature and willing to learn and awesome in every way. I may cry just typing this...sweet kids.

My schedule here in NC is a little different than it was in Tupelo. I teach 5 classes with 3 planning periods. One planning period is considered my lunch period. I know your thinking well that is just because you are an elective, but no...all teachers teach only 5 classes.

On June 4 I will go with the 8th graders to Bush Gardens in Virginia some where. I am super excited. I haven't been on a field trip since I went to the planetarium in Jackson, MS. I think we went every. single. year. good times.

School lets out for teachers, officially on June 10. I will have one week of  awesome summer and then.....


Knee-....I will have knee surgery. The last update that I gave you was "ACL still torn...trying to rehab without surgery." Well, I tried...there was little to no improvement in my knee's pain. I consulted with people around me who have had this same surgery or haven't had this same surgery. Most everyone said..."you need to have the surgery..." So June 19, I will have my surgery. Mama is coming to help take care of me after the surgery because AnW has to work. I am so thankful...she has been through it with my sister so she knows what to expect. THANK YOU MAMA!


NC... We are really loving it here in North Carolina. We have a great church and have met some really great people. North Carolina is an ideal location for fun trips. We are like 6 hours from Atlanta, 4 hours from D.C. and, like 6 hours from New York. I hope we get to take one of the trips soon.

We will go to ATL, of course. We are going before my surgery so I don't have to cruch around the Ted. We have already been once this year and I can't wait to go back. Turner Field has got to be the happiest place on Earth...

Country Music...If you would have asked me 2 months ago if I liked Country music I would have screamed at you and yelled obnoxiously. I honestly hated Country music. I found it highly annoying...and parts of it I still do. Like wearing a cowboy hat everyday is super annoying..luckily most don't do that anymore.

But now...its growing on me. My favorite morning show The Bobby Bones show switched from Top 40 to Country so I was forced to listen to Country music. The artist are so nice and genuine and there songs aren't half bad. This song by Kip Moore is precious. I also like Gloriana. Rachel from Gloraina and Bobby Bones sorta have a thing and it awesome. So I don't hate Country music, but I still think some of the artist are ridiculous with their countryness...loose the cowboy hat it's stupid...ok I'm done.

My Braves-let's be honest...they are struggling. Half of our bull pen pitching staff is out for the year with Tommy John surgery. And yeah that sucks. But good news...Alex Wood just got called up from AA Mississippi. Pretty sure he is going to save the day...err, season? And can we just get rid of Juan Francisco...his baseball skills lately are not worthy of a hyperlink...

Last braves thing and I'm done because I realize most are my readers are not baseball people. The Braves like to hug after they get big hits or homers and it's awesome. Watch this video. #hugsforhomers #alwaysbrave

I Never Thought

When I was a senior in high school (2005-2006) I never thought...

That I would still be a die hard Braves fan (2005)

That I would meet most of my best friends and husband in Junior College. (2006-2008)

That I would go to Mississippi State. USM was the plan, SMTTT. (2008-2011)

That all those best friends would go to State with me. (2008)

That I would be married before I graduated college. (2009)

That I would have married such a patient man. (2009)

That I would have graduated with my masters degree. (2011)

That I would have spent the first 3 years of my married life in Starkville, MS. God's Country. #hailstate (2009-2012)

That I would teach in Tupelo, land of the MacBook. (2011-2013)

That I would meet amazing teachers that greatly shaped the teacher I am. (2011)
That I would fall in love with my 280 7th grade students that I taught at Tupelo. I miss them so much. (2011-2013)

That we would buy a house a few days after my 24th birthday. (2012)

That my parents would move away from the great Madison, MS. (2011)

That less than a year later we would not live in that house we bought. (2013)

That I would move away from Mississippi. (2013)

That I would live Durham, NC (Go Duke!) (2013)

That I would teach in the best school district in North Carolina. Chapel Hill-Carborro (Go Tarheels!)

That I would make such a sweet friend so quickly, that has made all the difference in my move to NC. (2013)

I never thought that I would love my Chapel Hill kids like I love my Tupelo kids. (2013)

That I would cry typing this...

I never thought I would be so blessed.
